Robert E. Creagh, Jr. (3)At the age of 63, Robert E. Creagh, Jr. of Lansing, Michigan passed away on September 8, 2023, at his home. He was born on March 2, 1960, to Mary V. Coats Creagh and Robert E. Creagh, Sr. During his early years, Robert displayed great athletic skill and an extraordinary sense of musical ability. He was a star player on the wrestling team at Gardner Junior High School and enjoyed playing the bass guitar with his band. On many occasions, he could be found strumming his guitar with his brother Donnie on the drums and his sisters dancing in the basem*nt of their mother’s home.

Robert became a successful businessman, restaurateur, real-estate developer, stockbroker, and community mentor. Some of his notable accomplishments include South Washington Sandwich Shop,Total Chicken, Rent-A-Ride, Autos Unlimited, Munchies, Waverly Southside Corridor, retail plaza and tower.

People from all walks of life looked to him because he was proof that anything could be achieved through hard work and a relentless belief in oneself. He started with nothing and progressed to becoming one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the city of Lansing. Robert will forever be remembered for his candid and straightforward demeanor, his positive outlook on life, and his unwavering determination and persistence in achieving his goals.

Robert is survived by his two sons, Dustin and Jordan Creagh, his grandson Dustin Creagh Jr., five siblings, Don Coats a.k.a. Peeny Creagh, Tiffany Diane Creagh-Lee, Jennifer Creagh, Tammy Creagh-Brown, and Pamara Creagh-Childress, as well as a host of family and friends.

His generosity knew no bounds with his wisdom as a guiding light to many. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled. Let us honor his legacy and extend a hand to those in need, just as he did.

Rest in peace my father, grandpa, brother, uncle, nephew, and loyal friend.

Bob was such a humble man and he would do anything for you. He opened his home up for me and my family in 2013 when we had the ice storm a couple days before Christmas; we had a great holiday celebration and it’s one of my many memories I have of Bob. I will truly miss him.

My deepest condolences to the family. Love – Polly (Emma) Jackson

He was a mentor and friend, I loved him like a brother, he had a spirit that you don’t find in many people, that’s what made him special. Greatly loved by his family and held in high esteem by his friends. We don’t meet many like Bob, so when you do, hold on enjoy them to the fullest, let nothing come between you and them, because life is to short. My sincerest condolences to the family.

Saddened by the news that was given to me this past week, I thought about all of the good memories of spending time with you as a little girl, and all the laughs we shared. You will always have a special place in my heart. As I write this, I swear I can see your big smile, and hear that big and deep laugh to match. Though you were tough, you would always have the best interest at heart for anyone you crossed paths with. I will miss you so much Uncle Jr. and I love you dearly.

Sincerely, Your Talker (Your nickname for me)

Bob was such a nice and generous person! I loved going to his Christmas parties that him and Wanda used to give. He always let me shoot hoops on the upper level during the Christmas parties! I will cherish those memories. He will sincerely be missed! May he rest in eternal comfort and peace.

Robert was an awesome dude! His legacy is beyond impressive. May you and your family be given the strength to continue honoring Robert, even in his physical absence…for his spirit will forever be present.

You and yours have another angel looking over you now.

And I’d give anything to see a video of you and your sisters dancing back in the day while Robert and the brothers played their instruments.

Junior, my heart aches at every moment , of every day that has gone by since your passing. I wish I could turn back the hands of time so that I could spend time with you that I missed, say more to you that I didn’t, been the sister that I should have been that I wasn’t. There is no doubt in my mind that you knew how much I loved you and how much you loved me. I guess everyone who has lost a loved one wishes they could have had more time and opportunities to be more present in their relationships…whether family or friends. Many times I thought of moving back to Michigan to be there for you and Peeny. It’s just the thought of living there again is what kept me away. Thank you for our phone conversations, thank you for the precious moments during my last visit, thank you for always having my back when I needed you, thank you for being a great big brother. I’m not ready to say goodbye, I’m not looking forward to coming home for this reason, it’s getting tougher for me the closer we get to Saturday. I won’t say goodbye but I will say see you in heaven. As tears roll down my cheeks and the pain hits the pit of my stomach, I whisper to heavens Angels saying “kiss and hug my brother”,as I say”I love you forever. I will miss you always”.

I’ve known the Creagh family for 45 years. Robert was forced into the patriarch roll at a very early age and I think that may be why he was such a go getter and a person that could handle many adversities with such ease. He was a very confident individual and I looked up to him. His family loved him very much and he was well respected in the community. He left us way too early but he did leave us all the better from knowing him.
God bless you Robert, may you rest in Heavenly peace.

I don’t even know where to begin. Junior was a true GIFT to me…. to our family…. to our community. To be honest, I have never heard a single person speak negatively about Bob Creagh. He made magic happen for so many people and I loved and respected him dearly. He was a great business mind, a financial advisor, a thinker, planner and one who didn’t “beat around the bush”. My cousin never did things for show, nor did he take things for granted. Bob simply LOVED to help and spread his vast knowledge. He wanted to see everyone succeed and was responsible for so many GOOD THINGS that happened in Lansing. I was always proud to call him my family and brag on him every chance that I got. I’m so glad that he knew how much I cared about him, for I reminded him of my love and admiration as often as I could. My heart is broken, but I know that he’s in Heaven smiling down on all of us.

Until we meet again, Unc. We love you.

Bob was a visionary that made his dreams come true. He was strong as an ox and had a heart of gold. He blessed many people with his knowledge and generosity. Bob encouraged, inspired many people and was the sole inspiration behind me getting my broker’s license. The love we had for each other was understood by “us”.
Forever in my heart … your spirit lives. God says … Well done my good and faithful servant!

Rest in Peaceful Paradise big brother. Now I know why I was so compelled to fly home from Dallas for my birthday in June this year. It was to be the last time I would see you here on this Earth. The first of the 6 of us to transition on in the Spirit to join our Momma and Dad as guardian ancestors.

Condolences to my nephews, Dustin Creagh and Jordan Creagh . May the Most High Comfort you always. Let your dad’s words of encouragement and expressions of love linger throughout the days. His Spirit will NEVER die!

To my sisters Pamara Childress, Tiffany Creagh-Lee, Jennifer Creagh , and my brother Donnie let’s make this, another immediate family transition, be the glue that reinfoces our family togetherness in the Spirit of Love, Honor, and Respect for one another, just how Momma would have had it.

Bob, on one of the last phone conversations I had with you and my sisters together, we talked about how much of an inspiration you were and pinpointed actual incidents we recall that were the catalysts that drove you down the road to entrepreneurial success–first bricks-and-mortar, a car dealership (punn intended). I told how you leaving that job at the gas station in your late teens/early twenties made me so proud–even as a little girl. That pride never died!

You were an inspiration to so many. Your courage and tenacity will continue to inspire. I love you brother. Your voice, your smile, your high expectations, humorous and unaplogetic candor will forever be cherished. You will truly be missed! ? May our entire family be lifted in prayer.
