PS1 Classic The Legend of Dragoon Does Indeed Have Trophies on PS5, PS4 (2024)

And a Platinum

The Legend of Dragoon is battling its way to PS5 and PS4 on the 21st February as part of this month's PS Plus Premium update, and as previously rumoured, the classic JRPG does indeed have a full Trophy list at launch.

It's got a total of 47 trinkets — with four Golds and four Silvers — and yes, it includes an all-important Platinum. Most Trophies are locked behind story progress, rewarding you for completing chapters, beating bosses, and recruiting new party members.

In short, it looks like perfectly doable list, although you will have to track down 30 of the game's Stardust collectables for one specific Silver gong. These things can be difficult to spot against some of the title's prerendered backdrops, so you might need to follow a guide every now and then.

You can find the complete Trophy list by clicking here, but do be wary of potential spoilers.

Will you be going for the Plat in The Legend of Dragoon? Gather some unlikely allies and adventure into the comments section below.

About Robert Ramsey

PS1 Classic The Legend of Dragoon Does Indeed Have Trophies on PS5, PS4 (3)

Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he's played 'em all. A little too much, some might say.

This game is one that I've been asking for for a while and they announce it whilst I'm playing Hogwarts. Next game sorted.

@ShogunRok This game should be released on a Bluray with a classic sleeve like they did with Wipeout oh I loved this game so much.

It must also be pointed out that Wild Arms 2 has also got trophy support. Seems Sony is being diligent enough to offer trophies on their own games, but doesn't mandate it for other developers.

Wild Arms 2 also has trophies and a platinum.

What a time to be alive! I would never guessed Sony would release old PS1 rpg’s on modern consoles with trophy support! 🤯

One of my favorite games ever. This game is honestly a much better game then FFVII can ever be. It's a shame too many people are blinded to realize that.

@BeerIsAwesome I can remember using the school printers in the late 90s to print guides & cheats off from Gamefaqs. Broken sword goat puzzle had me for a good year

I see Harvest Moon didn't get trophies. Hopefully it and the other games already on the service get them patched later.

@ShogunRok I'm pretty sure Wild Arms 2 will have trophies as well given that Wild Arms 1 has a trophy list with a platinum.

Still in doubt whether I should play this. How fun will this be if you haven’t played the original so won’t have nostalgic feelings? Will it be playable when used to modern games?

@Darude84

My question too. Seems like most people are excited for it but I only ever heard about it now

Whoa! I know it's fickle, and shouldn't, but reality is this does make me more likely to replay it. Loved it back in the day.

@Netret0120 @Darude84 In it's day it was the closest thing to a Western Final Fantasy like 7 or 8, with (IMHO) a better battle system. That's not to say it's all round as good a game, it isn't, but it was still really really good.

How YOU feel about that will be subjective and whether you still enjoy playing games from that era for the first time. Yes it will be dated in many ways, but there can also be a joy, for some, of simpler mechanics and times.

I guess the beauty of a subscription service is you can try it for yourself, at no additional risk/cost.

@themightyant You’re right. I’ll just add it to my library and will see if I feel like playing it. It’s nothing more than a luxury problem having so many games available with my Premium and Game Pass subscriptions.

It looks like the game continues after the final boss if you following those trophies. How rich is post game content if any?

@Ralizah Guess we'll find out in due course but ps1/psp classics like Hots Shots Golf etc.,have generally appeared on the new releases around $15 down under psn region...ironically despite a scornful tweet from one of the original Tekken devs on the initial $999 price tag of Tekken 2, its Namco Bandai & Capcom classic titles that are unavailable to buy on ps4/5 unless you subscribe to Premium/Deluxe or via ps3.

This is one I never played before and makes me wish game streaming was available on mobile,

Took a look at the trophies for this game and it’s MOSTLY story related, outside of story it’s just collect 30 stardust, hold 7000G at one time and 3 optional bosses that are missable if you don’t fight them before a specific fight in the game which I won’t point out for anyone who may be first timers going into it.
