PAWHUSKA — The Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond and her husband celebrated the nuptials of their "honeymoon baby" over the weekend.
The Food Network star and her rancher husband, Ladd Drummond, hosted on Saturday an outdoor wedding for their oldest child, daughter Alex Drummond,and her groom, Mauricio Scott, on their spread near Pawhuska.
Ree Drummond started her media career as a married stay-at-home mom to four children blogging about recipes, motherhood and life on her family's ranch. Since 2011, the cookbook author and TV personalityhas filmed her Food Network show "The Pioneer Woman" — now in its 27th season — in "The Lodge," a guest house on the ranch, which means fans have watched the Drummond children grow up.
The Pioneer Woman shared the scoop aboutthe May 1 black tie-optional ceremony on her popular blog as well as on her Pioneer Woman Instagram.

1.The father of the bride picked the spot
Ladd Drummond, the Pioneer Woman's husband and the father of the bride, picked the picturesque spot on their ranch for theceremony, according to the PioneerWoman.com blog post about the wedding.
2. The groom's tuxedo was a late arrival
Among thefew "last-minute scrambles" before the big event: The groom'stuxedo had to be shipped overnight to make it in time.
3. Alex decided not to let her groom see her dress before the wedding
Although taking “first look” photos before the wedding has become trendy in recent years, the 23-year-old bridedecided to keep it traditional andnot let Mauricio see her lace Monique Lhuillier dress before the ceremony.
"It makes that moment so much more special, seeing her for the first time at the wedding," the groom said.
Since the blog post includes photos ofMauricio in tears as Alex walks down the aisle, it looks like it was definitely an emotional moment.
4. Oklahoma musician Travis Linville sang the bride and her father down the aisle
Walking down the aisle was a big moment Alex imagined for her wedding: She said envisioned "my dad getting to walk me down the aisle — especially consideringhis accidentand everything that’s happened lately — and seeing Mauricio for the first time."
Oklahoma singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Travis Linville sang "Behold," a favorite praise hymn of the bride and groom, for Alex and Ladd as they made their big walk down the aisle.
Although he is seen in one of the photos wearing his neck brace from his recent automobile accident while sitting in the audience, Ladd was able to appear in many of the pictures without the medical device.
5. The six-tier wedding cake matched Alex's dress
Made by Amy Cakesin Norman, the six-tier cake was decorated with hand-made edible lace to match the bride's dress and topped with flowers to go along with the "enchanted garden" of flowers that adorned the aisle, the outdoor site and the reception tent.
While the wedding cake boasted alternating white and strawberry cake with Swiss meringue buttercream, the groom's cake was ajersey-shaped chocolate and cookies and cream confectionwith chocolate mousse.
6. Leon Bridges, Brooks & Dunn and Kenny Rogers were among the dancing tunes
Alex said she picked for her bridal gown a dress that was "comfortable enough to wear all night, and it twirls—which was great for the dance floor."
The bride and groom danced for the first time as a married couple to"Beyond" by Leon Bridges.
"Mauricio got us tickets to a Leon Bridges concert in Austin pretty early on in our relationship. We listen to him a lot together, and we think it’s just a sweet, romantic song," Alex said.
For her dance with her father, the bride selected an acoustic version of "Cowgirls Don’t Cry" by Brooks & Dunn," although she did opt to leave out some lyrics.
"There’s a verse in it that talks about the dad comforting his daughter after a divorce or something, so we thought that verse wasn’t very fitting for this wedding," she said. "We took that out."
Her new husband also went country for his special dance with hismom, Martha: They took the floorto "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers.
7. The Pioneer Woman's Mercantile wasn't the only Pawhuska eatery in on the event
Not surprisingly, the staff at the popular Pioneer Woman Mercantile catered theseated dinner at the reception. For the dinner, The Merc staff prepared a spring field greens salad with tiny vegetables for the starter, followed bya steak and shrimp duet with sides including caramelized onion and bacon mac and cheese, charred veggiesand mashed potatoes, all taste-tested by the mother of the brideherself beforehand.
After dancing, live music and a churro bar at the reception, the festivities moved to another Pioneer Woman business in Pawhuska:P-Town Pizza, where pizza, wings, snacks, a DJand an illuminateddance floor kept the party going.
"Traditionally, Mexican weddings usually go pretty late. They can go until 6 a.m., until the break of dawn," Mauricio said. "It was a nice twist to have an after-party."
8. The bride and groom plan to settle in Texas after their beach honeymoon
After their beach honeymoon in the Maldives, the couple are moving into their first home together inDallas.
They’ll continue working, play on their Monday night soccer team and come back to Oklahoma tohelp film "The Pioneer Woman."
