From a performance standpoint, yes you would be wasting your money buying DDR4-2666 or DDR4-3200 memory.

From a cost standpoint the faster memory may be less expensive nowadays than the 2400 MHz memory.

That will depend on if the same cost factor applies in Romania as it does in the United States.

In the USA, DDR4-3200 memory is generally less expensive than DDR4-2400 memory.

You should also note that your notebook probably supports up to 32 GB of memory if you are interested in installing that much.

You can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support...

1. In the search box, search forcmdand clickRun as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, typewmic memphysical get maxcapacityExand hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert itto Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by1,048,576.

You can also see that DDR4-3200 memory costs less in the USA...and that the Crucial memory report does indicate your notebook can support 32 GB of memory.

Hi:

The fastest speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at is 2400 MHz.

Any memory that you install that is faster than 2400 MHz will automatically bridge to 2400 MHz.

So, you are telling that my motherboard supports 3200 MHz frequency, but the processor will reduce it down to 2400 MHz because it is too much to run for it? And eventually, it s just a wasting of money to buy 3200MHz ram
